OREANDA-NEWS. March 27, 2009.  Kadyrbek Sarbaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, paid a working visit to Moscow on March 26.

During the talks between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Kadyrbek Sarbaev, a thorough exchange of views took place on a broad spectrum of dynamic Russian-Kyrgyz relations and on the two countries’ cooperation in the Central Asian region and on the international stage.

Special attention was paid to practical realization of the principally important accords on bilateral economic and credit-and-financial cooperation reached at the meeting between President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Kurmanbek Bakiyev in Moscow on February 3, 2009. It was emphasized that these accords are opening up broad horizons for building up fruitful engagement between the two countries in hydro energy development and other key sectors of the Kyrgyz economy.

The ministers stated the commonality of Russia and Kyrgyzstan’s approaches toward regional stability and security and international problems of mutual concern. Satisfaction was expressed at the high degree of mutual interaction and the readiness to further coordinate the two countries’ efforts within the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Economic Community, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was reaffirmed.
