OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2009. Dmitry Medvedev sent his condolences to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad following a series of terrorist attacks.

The President’s message reads, in part:

“I was shocked to hear of the terrorist attacks near the city of Zahedan that killed dozens of Iranian military servicemen and civilians. I resolutely condemn this latest heinous act by extremists, and I am confident that the organisers and executors will be found and punished.

We believe that the fight against terrorism and extremism, no matter what its source, requires all countries to join forces in a common effort. We are ready to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran in combating these threats.

Mr President, please accept my sincere condolences over this tragedy, and I ask you to pass on my words of sympathy to the victims’ families and wish all who were injured a swift recovery.”
