OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2010. President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Foreign Minister of Slovakia, Miroslav Lajcak.

The President expressed hope that Miroslav Lajcak`s first visit to Azerbaijan would be successful and open up new prospects for effective cooperation in a variety of fields. President Ilham Aliyev noted that there is a huge potential and mutual interest of both sides to achieve it. The President expressed confidence that meetings to be held during the visit would be effective in determining major areas for development of bilateral relations.

Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak pointed out Azerbaijan as one of the leading countries in terms of politics, economy and energy. He said that Azerbaijani President`s views on the regional processes are important for Slovakia. The Minister noted that the main aim of the visit is to intensify bilateral relationship. Expressing satisfaction with the level of political ties between the two countries, Miroslav Lajcak stressed that Azerbaijan and Slovakia enjoy friendly relations.
