OREANDA-NEWS. May 19, 2010. A telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak took place at the Slovak side’s initiative.

The ministers expressed satisfaction with the high level of political dialogue and multifaceted Russian-Slovak cooperation, which received an additional powerful impulse following the official visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Slovakia in April and the participation of the leaders of the two states in the celebrations on the occasion of the anniversary of Victory in Bratislava and Moscow. The parties arranged to continue active and consistent work on the realization of the agreements reached.

The conversation also touched upon international issues of mutual concern. In particular, the ministers discussed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in detail. In this context they exchanged views on the EU-West Balkans high-level meeting scheduled to be held in Sarajevo on June 2.
