OREANDA-NEWS. May 19, 2010. A telephone conversation took place on May 18 between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Topical issues of bilateral strategic dialogue were discussed, including in the context of ratifying the Russian-US Treaty on Measures to Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms. Both parties expressed the desire to complete the ratification process as soon as possible.

The situation surrounding Iran’s nuclear program was touched on.

In addition, Lavrov and Clinton discussed the timetable for further Russian-US high-level contacts, including through the Russia-NATO Council.
