OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held telephone talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, during which they discussed the problem of the “militants” detained in Belarus.

The announcement of the talks was published on the official website of the Ukrainian leader. “The heads of state discussed in detail the issues related to the detention on the territory of Belarus at the end of July of a group of persons belonging to the private military company Wagner. The importance of further effective interaction of the competent authorities of the two states was noted, in particular in the context of the transfer to Ukraine of persons suspected of terrorist activities on the territory of our state,” the message says.

“I hope that all suspects in terrorist activities on the territory of Ukraine will be transferred to us for prosecution in accordance with the current international legal documents,” Zelensky said, commenting on this issue.
