China Announced Joint Military Exercises with Russia “West. Interaction-2021"

OREANDA-NEWS “Based on the consensus reached between China and Russia, the armed forces of the Russian Federation will take part in the exercises' West. Interaction -2021 "to be held in China in early and mid-August", - said Wu Qian.
The place for the maneuvers will be an army training base in the city of Qingtongxia.
As the representative of the Chinese military department emphasized, the parties will create a joint command center. Each of the countries will send more than 10 thousand troops to the exercises. They will involve aviation and artillery.
Wu Qian pointed out that the purpose of the joint exercises is to strengthen and develop comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Russia, to support regional peace and security, and to demonstrate resolve in the fight against terrorism.
As EADaily reported, on the eve, on July 28, in Dushanbe, the Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe invited his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu to the active phase of the joint exercises “West. Interaction -2021 ". He noted that in the current international situation, his meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Russia, "some countries do not like it." In turn, Shoigu said that their meeting marks and continues the long path of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the PRC and their personal friendship.
