OREANDA-NEWS. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his readiness to send the Turkish armed forces to Libya, if the Turkish parliament gives permission. This was reported by Anadolu agency.

“Turkey will provide any necessary assistance to the legitimate authorities of Libya (The Government of National Accord. – Ed.), which fight the coup and general (Khalifa Haftar. – Ed.) and secured the support of several European and Arab countries,” Erdogan said during a speech in Ankara.

According to the politician, the Libyan government has already sent such an appeal and Turkey will consider it. Erdogan expressed hope that the first issue of the winter session of the Turkish parliament will be a bill on the use of Turkish troops in Libya, and the corresponding mandate will be approved on January 8–9.
