OREANDA-NEWS. German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will discuss in Poland relations with Russia and the situation in Belarus. As the AFP news agency reported on Thursday, July 1, the German foreign minister is scheduled to hold talks with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau in Warsaw.

In the afternoon, at the residence of the German Ambassador to Poland, Arndt Freitag von Loringhoven, the German minister will have a discussion with representatives of the Belarusian civil society living in Warsaw.

Recently, there has been tension in relations between Germany and Poland, the AFP news agency reminds. Among the controversial issues the completion of the project of the pipeline «Nord stream — 2» is designed to link Russia and Germany, the judicial reform, the national-conservative government Mateusz Morawiecki, as well as requirements of Warsaw, on the payment of reparations in connection with the Second world war.
