OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow calls on the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to stop hostilities, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said. According to him, Russia has good relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“Yesterday, unfortunately, the day was darkened by the extreme aggravation of the situation on the contact line in the Nagorno-Karabakh zone. This situation, of course, is a reason for the grave concern of Moscow and other countries… We continue to monitor the situation very closely and believe that hostilities should be immediately stopped and the process of resolving the conflict… as well as the consequences of the current aggravation, should turn into political and diplomatic channels,” Peskov said.

The Kremlin spokesman noted that it is important to end the hostilities, and not to figure out “who is right and who is wrong.” “Russia has always taken an equally balanced position, it is the position that gives Russia the opportunity to use its influence and traditionally good relations with both countries, with Azerbaijan and with Armenia,” the politician added.
