Lukashenko Announced Huge Military Supplies from Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. Russia will soon supply Belarus with a huge batch of weapons and military equipment, Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko told reporters in Minsk on Wednesday, September 1. According to him, there are dozens of planes, helicopters, air defense systems and, possibly, S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.
«In the near future — I signed an order the day before yesterday — dozens of planes, dozens of helicopters, the most important air defense weapons will be delivered to us from the Russian Federation. Maybe even a C-400. We really need it, I have already said this», the state news agency «BelTA» quotes Lukashenko.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Russia will supply Belarus with the most modern equipment. «The most modern equipment. We will retrofit. If we see at the exercises («West-2021». - Ed.), that we need something else, it means that we will buy from the Russian Federation and put it into service», he added.
The joint strategic exercises (SSU) of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus «West-2021» will be held from September 10 to 16, 2021. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, about 200 thousand military personnel, as well as up to 760 pieces of equipment and 15 ships will take part in them.
