OREANDA-NEWS. According to the results of a survey conducted by Russian Public Opinion Research Center, almost 80 % of citizens consider constitutional amendments proposed by President Vladimir Putin to be important.

Most Russians supported social initiatives. 91 % of respondents gave their voices for implementation of the mandatory regular indexation of pensions, benefits and other social payments in the Constitution. The fixation of the minimum wage not lower than the subsistence level was approved by 90 % of citizens.

It is noted that in general 79 % of respondents rated the changes in the Basic Law as important, 16 % said that they are not important, 5 % found difficulty in replying.

Most often, people over 35 years old called the presidential initiative important, among them 81 % adhere to this opinion. 79 % of people aged 25 to 34 years old and 61 % of people from 18 to 24 supported amendments. At the same time, 35 % of young people called the project unimportant.
