OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he is against establishment of a stabilizing institution for the transfer of power during the transition period in the Russian Federation, because this would undermine the authority of the president and lead to dual power in the country.

The politician expressed this opinion on January 22 in the course of communication with students. One of the participants in the meeting asked Putin a question about prospects after 2024, when his presidential term will end. She suggested using the experience of Singapore, where the position of a minister mentor was created.

“In our country, if some kind of institution appears above the president, this will mean nothing but dual power. It is absolutely fatal situation for a state like Russia,” Putin replied.
