OREANDA-NEWS. An entrepreneur Roman Putin, first cousin once removed of the Russian president, was elected chairman and leader of the political party named People against Corruption.

The decision made at the party congress was announced by the chairman of its general political council, Grigory Anisimov. The inclusion of a “successful entrepreneur, public and political figure” in the party will give it a “new impetus” in the implementation of anti-corruption activities and social projects, Anisimov noted.

Putin told reporters that the party’s top priority is the regional elections scheduled for September of 2020, and the next step is elections to the State Duma.

“There are a lot of plans in different areas of the state’s activity, absolutely in all sectors. As you have noticed, there are very active members in our party. …Today, one of the party members voiced a series of events to save budget funds worth 9 trillion roubles,” the politician said.
