OREANDA-NEWS  President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the suspension of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles. This is stated in the press service of the Kremlin.

In accordance with the decree, participation in the INF TREATY is suspended "until the United States of America has eliminated its violations of its obligations under the Treaty or until its termination".

The INF Treaty was signed in 1987 by leaders of the USSR and the USA Michael Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan. In early February, Washington suspended its obligations under the DRMSD. Following this, Moscow announced the mirror measures. On February 2, Vladimir Putin approved the creation of ground-based hypersonic missiles and the refinement of the Calibre missile to the ground version. Previously, the Caliber missiles could only be installed on ships due to the restrictions of the INF.
