OREANDA-NEWS. Albert Kangiev, the head of the Crimean State Committee for Interethnic Relations, said that the claims of the European Union regarding the opening of the railway part of the Crimean bridge are groundless. “These are untenable claims by the EU. Crimea has long been a legitimate and imprescriptible part of the Russian Federation, so we should not pay attention to the politicized statements of the EU,” the politician stated.

On December 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the opening ceremony of the Crimean bridge railway.

Later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine protested Russia over the launch of the railway part of the Crimean bridge and Putin’s visit to the peninsula.

The European Union also said that the opening of the railway part violates the state sovereignty of Ukraine.
