OREANDA-NEWS. Member of the Federation Council of Russia, Aleksey Pushkov, responded the words of the US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs, Marshall Billingslea, who said that Russia should abandon the development and implementation of the latest types of nuclear-powered missiles, calling them a threat which can be compared to Chernobyl.

“And the latest US nuclear missiles, which will replace all intercontinental ballistic missiles Minuteman, are they humane weapons or “angels from heaven”? Billingslea should know that these are the Doomsday weapons,” the Russian parliamentarian wrote on Twitter. In his opinion, Washington should focus on new mechanisms for controlling nuclear arms, and not tell Moscow what to do. “Instead, they have withdrawn from the INF Treaty, are withdrawing from START III and are working to strengthen an already powerful nuclear potential. This is the approach of the Doomsday,” Pushkov resumed.
