OREANDA-NEWS. After the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of Russia, it is necessary to analyze international agreements and inform foreign organizations that the main law of the country now dominates the decisions of interstate bodies. This was said by State Duma Chairman, Vyacheslav Volodin.

The politician considers this amendment to be one of key changes. “After its entry into force, it would be right today to analyze all interstate agreements within the framework of international organizations,” the speaker said. Volodin noted that these agreements formed the legal framework of Russia in the 1990s and continue to operate till nowadays.

According to him, international bodies should be notified that the Constitution of Russia “now dominates the decisions that have been and will be taken.” The Chairman of the Duma explained that Russia should protect its sovereignty and not allow other states to interfere in its affairs.

Earlier, the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe recommended abandoning this amendment to the Constitution.
