OREANDA-NEWS. Russian electronic warfare systems have proven their effectiveness not only in the Black Sea against NATO ships, but also in Syria against drones, having demonstrated their versatility. This was claimed by Dmitry Belik, State Duma deputy from the city of Sevastopol.

NATO ships approaching the Russian maritime borders in the Crimea region are practically incapable of reconnaissance due to counteraction of coastal electronic warfare, a source in the region’s law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti earlier.

Commenting on it, Belik noted that during his trips to Syria he repeatedly received information about the successful use of electronic warfare equipment to protect Russian military bases in Khmeimim and Tartus. “We are not in a state of war with NATO, but we are not going to forgive attempts to penetrate our communication networks. NATO sailors should clearly understand that the approach to the Crimean coast for conducting intelligence activities will not be a Piccadilly promenade,” the Russian parliamentarian said.
