OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News, referring to the possible renaming of some US military bases, claimed that the country won two “beautiful world wars.”

The head of the White House intends to veto the draft defense budget for fiscal year 2021 if there is a provision to rename forts bearing the names of Confederate generals, such as Fort Bragg and Fort Robert E. Lee. Trump stressed that he is not going to pay attention to the opinion of the military and is going to decide for himself whether the bases will be renamed or will remain with their names.

“We won two world wars… beautiful World Wars that were vicious and horrible, and we won them out of Fort Bragg, we won out of all of these forts that now they want to throw those names away. And, no, I’m against that, and you know what, most other people are,” American leader explained. The politician also said that he does not believe the results of the surveys conducted on the renaming of the US military bases.
