OREANDA-NEWS. Alexander Lukashenko’s main rival in the presidential elections in Belarus, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, announced the launch of the procedure for creating a coordination council, which will have to ensure the transfer of power to her.

“Taking into account what is happening in the country and the need to take urgent measures to restore the rule of law in Belarus, I, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, initiate the creation of a coordinating council to ensure the transfer of power,” a message published on the Telegram channel of the joint press service of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, Viktar Babaryka and Valery Tsepkalo says.

Tsikhanouskaya said that the council should include representatives of all associations that are interested in dialogue and the peaceful transfer of power: labour collectives, political parties, trade unions and others. “We actually need your help and experience. We need your connections, contacts, expert advice and support,” Tsikhanouskaya wrote. She asked the international community to help in organizing a dialogue with the Belarusian authorities.
