OREANDA-NEWS. The Turkish parliament may consider using the country’s armed forces in the territory of Libya. This was stated by Ibrahim Kalin, the spokesman for the Turkish president.

On December 21, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey ratified a memorandum of military cooperation concluded with the government in Tripoli. Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the possibility of sending the Turkish military to Libya, if its authorities submit such a request to Ankara.

“In accordance with world events, it may be necessary to obtain permission (To use the Turkish armed forces in Libya. – Ed.). This is the authority of the parliament. According to the circumstances, such a decision can be made, it can be military training and humanitarian missions. We will evaluate and take necessary steps,” Kalin told to reporters.
