OREANDA-NEWS. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite may indicate the presence of the Omicron strain of coronavirus in the body. This was announced by one of the authors of the study of a new strain from the United States, Bill Admair, reports WPMI-TV.

According to him, in patients during the disease, symptoms characteristic of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract were manifested. The doctor clarified that with Omicron, people who suffer from such diseases have even more symptoms: nausea, vomiting and stomach pain.

Admair recommended that citizens who have problems with the digestive system wear a protective mask, minimize contact with others and seek medical attention.

Earlier that day, Andrey Pozdnyakov, an infectious disease doctor, head physician of the clinical diagnostic laboratory of Invitro-Sibir LLC, said that citizens vaccinated against COVID-19 quickly develop antibodies to the new Omicron strain. In turn, the Deputy Director for Clinical Work of the Moscow Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after G.N. Gabrichevsky Rospotrebnadzor Tatyana Ruzhentsova noted on the same day that people vaccinated against coronavirus after being infected with Omicron get sick less time and easier than those who were not vaccinated.

On February 1, infectious disease specialist Yevgeny Timakov said that in some cases, the PCR test shows a negative result, even if a person has symptoms of infection with the Omicron strain of coronavirus. The doctor advised to limit contact with other people when symptoms of infection appear, even if the result of a PCR test in a person is negative.
