OREANDA-NEWS. February 7, 2009. Dmitry Medvedev sent a greeting to the participants in the Special Olympics World Winter Games that open today in Boise (USA, Idaho).

The President's message of greetings reads, in particular:

“For decades now these games have been a venerable part of global sporting events. They perform a noble humanistic mission, supporting people with physical disabilities yet great strength of mind. And they have helped many not only to believe in their abilities but, despite their circumstances, to achieve impressive results.

More than 2,600 athletes from 110 countries around the world are taking part in the current competition. An intense sporting combat is awaiting you and I am sure you have the will to win and will meet the expectations of your fans.”
