OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 March 2009 was announced, that the international scientific conference dedicated to Muhammet Gaymaz Turkmen, one of the outstanding philosophers of the 13-14th centuries who made a significant contribution to the development of science and the Oriental school of philosophy, has kicked off in Ashgabat.

Scholars from various countries will discuss literary and scientific heritage of Muhammet Gaymaz Turkmen, his book "Prophet's Medicine" as well as medical heritage of the Turkmen people as a whole.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has sent a welcome message to the conference participants. The text of the message was published in Turkmen press today, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.

Having wished the conference participants and guests successful and productive work, the head of state expressed confidence that the forum "will open up new pages of the multifaceted scientific heritage of the famous Turkmen scholar."

"Before independence, very few people in our country knew the scientific heritage of Muhammet Gaymaz Turkmen. The scientific data about Muhammet Gaymaz Turkmen and some of his books has recently come to be in great demand. Copies of his manuscripts were brought in Turkmenistan from foreign libraries," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted.

According to the president, the philosophical views of Muhammet Gaymaz Turkmen are "the scientific and spiritual foundation of our time" and his works "should become exemplary for the current generation."
