OREANDA-NEWS. April 6, 2009. The Days of Culture of the Russian Federation have been launched in Turkmenistan today. This large-scale cultural action initiated by the leaders of two countries is launched in accordance with the top-level agreements and vividly illustrates mutual willingness to dynamically develop multi-aspect cooperation at a qualitatively new and higher level development, intensify political, economic and humanitarian contacts, strength eth e ties of friendship and good neighbourliness between the Turkmen and the Russian peoples.

Today the Turkmen-Russian relations see an upsurge in development. Two countries intensify bilateral business contacts, expand educational collaboration and foster scientific and cultural exchange.

As is known further development of the humanitarian dialogue was a focus of the top-level talks during the recent state visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Russian Federation. It was noted that the Days of Culture of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan and the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation in 2010 would further enhance mutual confidence and cement the social foundation of Turkmen-Russian friendship.

This cultural action organized by the Ministry of Culture and TV and Radio Broadcasting of Turkmenistan with the assistance of the Russian colleagues is a critical step in bringing further two great cultures and nations together.

The versatile programme of the Days of Russian Culture is rich in the events drawing a vivid picture of the achievements and trends in development of Russian culture.

From April 6 to 11 the collectives of the Moscow State Philharmonic Society, K. Stanislavskiy and V. Nemirovich-Danchenko Academic Music Theatre, New Opera Moscow Theatre will perform at the large cultural centres and on the stages of the theatres in Ashgabat. A laureate of P. I. Tchaikovsky Contest Vadim Rudenko will perform a concert at the National Conservatoire of Turkmenistan. The State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by a laureate of the international contest, People’s Artist of Russia and our compatriots Murad Annamamedov will present the compositions of Russian classical music.

The collectives of Vladimir Orchestra of Russian National Instruments and S. V. Obraztsov Puppet Theatre will give concerts and performances in Ashgabat and the administrative centre of the Mary Velayat.

A photo and art exposition will be arranged at the Museum of Fine Art and the films with the famous Russian actors will be demonstrated in the framework of the Week of Russian Cinematography.

The hosts prepared a versatile programme including the visits to the landmarks of the Turkmen capital, city museums and Old Merv State Historical and Cultural Reserve for the Russian guests.
