OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2009. The 8th International Universal Exhibition White City – Ashgabat has opened in the Turkmen capital today. The large-scale exposition arranged at the Exhibition Centre is to showcase Turkmenistan’s achievements, prospects and potential in urban development that is a priority trends in the national policy. The forum is organized by Ashgabat Khyakimlik and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The exposition provides a vivid picture of the dynamics and scale of the ongoing reforms that are mirrored in the architectural look of the Turkmen capital. Many of the projects presented at the exhibition in the pervious years have been embodied in magnificent buildings and architectural ensembles – ‘the visit cards’ adorning Ashgabat. The exhibition is a splendid opportunity to look into the future and get acquainted with the new construction projects and housing development designs. The display is not limited to construction industry it covers a wide range of the city’s activity – from modernization of urban infrastructure to development of culture, tourism and sports. The forum presents innovations and high technologies in transport, communication, telecommunication, trade and other sectors.

The private sector of the national economy is presented so widely at the exhibition for the first time. Today private producers actively supported and encouraged by the state take the strong position in a number of the sectors including production of commodities, service and construction business.

The foreign participants of the White City – Ashgabat Exhibition are several dozens of the companies form the Russian Federation, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Latvia. Presenting their potential and willingness to establish close business contacts our long-term and future partners show keen interest in cooperating with Turkmenistan. The favourable investment climate and steady growth of the national economy against economic instability caused by global financial crisis is a weighty argument for high attractiveness of the Turkmen market.

The exposition of industrial equipment produced by the world’s leading manufactures for woodworking, petrochemical, light and food industries is arranged in the pavilions of the Exhibition Centre. Some of the projects and innovations offered by these manufactures have been approbated by Turkmen specialists. Trucks and vehicles delivered in Turkmenistan under the contracts with KAMAZ, MAZ, truck cranes Ulianovetz, Ivanovetz and other high-powered machines are displayed in the open-air exhibition area.
