OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2009. On the instruction of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the Turkmen delegation took part the festivities to mark the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy in Kazan. The envoys of Turkmenistan were Turkmen horse breeders and trainers, who presented the show-programme including the national horseback games.

The participation of the Turkmen delegation in the Sabantuy festivities is a vivid evidence of the successfully developing Turkmen-Tatar dialogue. Ranking among Turkmenistan’s partners Tatarstan delivers vehicles and helicopters and assists in developing motor sport in Turkmenistan. KamAZ trucks are engaged in almost all the construction projects launched in the country. The crew of the racing drivers from Naberezhnye Chelny is a co-organizer of the 2009 Silk Road Rally. A few days ago the CAR-Holding Company (Tatarstan) received the building certificate and will construct the indoor ski complex in the Avaza national tourism zone. Humanitarian contacts, in particular in the spheres of education and science, are actively developed.

Of course, the common cultural values and spiritual traditions that our peoples cherish bring the two peoples closer. That is illustrated by careful preservation of the national holidays combining the beautiful customs, songs, dances, traditions. The people of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan celebrate their holidays in the special atmosphere and with enthusiasm.

A striking illustration is Sabantuy that symbolizes the succession of generations, mutual understanding and unity. It reveals new talents, promotes sincere communication among people and brings them to respect the native language, culture and ancestors’ traditions. All this underlies the great vitality and wide popularity of Sabantuy.

The national songs, melodies and dances were performed in Kazan and other cities and villages of the Republic. The exciting horse races and demonstrative performances of the Turkmen skilful horsemen on Ahalteke horses arranged at the Kazan equestrian sports complex was the culmination of the celebrations. The show-programme included various national games that allowed the riders to demonstrate their brilliant technique of trick riding and unsurpassed beauty of the ‘heavenly horses’.
