OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2009. This November meat production in Azerbaijan dropped by 8.9% versus October (when decline was 17.9% against September), by 0.2% versus January 2009, and by 0.31% versus November 2008.

The State Statistics Committee (SSC) informs that in November meat production made up 24,600 tons versus 27,000 tons in October, 33,000 tons in September, 23,600 tons in August, 24,300 tons in July, 27,300 tons in June, 23,200 tons in May, 24,400 tons in April, 24,100 tons in March, 23,655 tons in February, 24,645 tons in January, 2009 and 26,900 tons in November 2008.

For Jan-Nov 2009, meat production totaled 278,800 tons versus 277,500 tons for the 2008 same term (rise by 0.5%) and 302,800 tons in 2008. In December 2008, it was produced 25,300 tons of meat versus 25,900 tons in December 2007.

“For Jan-Nov 2009, it was produced 1.307 million tons of milk (versus 1.268 million tons (+3.1%) for the 2008 relevant period and 1.38 million tons in 2008) and 1,080,500 eggs (versus 988,900 eggs (+9.3%) and 1.008 bn eggs respectively),” the Committee says.

Wool production made up 14,900 tons versus 14,100 tons a year earlier (+4.6%).

By 1st October 2009 country’s cattle stock increased by 2.1% year-on-year up to 2.58 million heads, while growth of sheep and goats made 1.7% up to 8.37 million heads. Pig stock reduced by 30.7% to 8,800 heads.

By 1st July, 2009, country’s cattle stock increased by 2% up to 2.58 million heads, while growth of sheep and goats made 1.6% up to 8.446 million heads. Pig stock decreased by 6.8% to 12,000 heads.

As of 1st April 2009 country’s cattle stock increased by 2% up to 2.57 million heads, while growth of sheep and goats made 1.6% up to 8.469 million heads. Pig stock diminished by 7% to 12,200 heads.

For comparison: as of 1st January 2009 country’s cattle stock increased by 1.5% up to 2.549 million heads, while growth of sheep and goats made 1.2% up to 8.2 million heads. Pig stock reduced by 37.6% to 11,700 heads.
