OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2010. Festival of Japanese cinema is now being held at "Burevestnik" cinema in Nakhodka. The Head of Nakhodka city district Oleg KOLYADIN and the Consul General of Japan in Vladivostok Mr. YAMADA took part in the festival’s opening ceremony.

Nakhodka became the last city within the framework of holding the 43rd Festival of Japanese cinema in Primorsky Krai. Japanese films have already been shown in Arseniev, Ussurisk and Vladivostok. The Consul General of Japan in Vladivostok Mr. YAMADA came to Nakhodka to take part in the festival’s opening ceremony. He expressed sincere satisfaction with possibility to present films of modern Japanese producers to Nakhodka’s residents once again.

The Head of Nakhodka city district Oleg KOLYADIN noted great interest of Nakhodka’s residents in such festivals. "Thanks to Japanese films we receive new information about neighboring country. A deep sense of these films and oriental philosophy make us think about many things", Oleg KOLYADIN stressed in his speech.

Festival of Japanese cinema opened with film "Awaking! ". This film is an adaptation of Natsuo Kirino's novel. It tells about human relations and social problems of the Japanese people.
