OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2010. The congratulatory message reads, in part: “Our peoples and countries share close bonds of friendship formed long ago, during the years when Namibian patriots were struggling for national liberation.

Today, our political, economic and cultural cooperation is gaining new strength. I am sure that implementation of the agreements concluded during my official visit to Namibia in June last year will help to open up new opportunities for bilateral cooperation, including in the mining, above all in uranium production, energy and transport sectors. It was with this same goal of developing our bilateral ties that I met with first President of Namibia Sam Nujoma in February in Moscow.

I hope to continue our joint efforts to cement the relations between our countries for the good of our peoples and in the interests of peace, security and stability on the African continent and throughout the world.”
