OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2010. Minsk, Zhodino and Molodechno are set to host a qualifying round of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in late September 2010.

Belarus have been drawn in to the sixth qualifying group. The Belarusian U-17 team will face Lichtenstein (in Zhodino on 21 September), Kazakhstan (also in Zhodino on 23 September), and Romania (in Minsk on 26 September).

All in all there thirteen qualifying groups. The top two teams from each progress into the elite round alongside the two third-placed teams with the best record against the top pair in their group.

In the elite round, played in early spring, those 28 qualifiers will compete in seven mini-tournament groups of four. The group winners progress to the finals that will be staged in Serbia on 3-15 May 2011.
