OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2010. Riigi Kinnisvara Ltd, the real estate service provider for state operations, canceled a contract with construction companies working on the new Koidula railroad checkpoint on the southeast Estonian-Russian border.

According to project manager Urmas Leinfeld, the contract was terminated because the contractors, Koger & Partnerid and Eltron, fell seriously behind schedule in building a railway station, customs warehouse and several other objects.

Leinfeld said that Riigi Kinnisvara will now have to announce a public tender to find a new contractor to finish the project by the initial deadline, July 1, 2011.

The 4-million-euro contract was drawn up in 2009.
