OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2010. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, introduced the Head of STA Vitali Zakharchenko to the labour collective of the State Tax Administration.

Mykola Azarov noted that Vitali Zakharchenko while working as the first Deputy Chairman of the Tax Administration has shown itself as a principal supervisor. The Head of the Government has set number of important tasks for the new Head of STA, including tax reform. "The tasks he faces are very large and very responsible. First is the tax reform in the country, along with the Government and the Ministry of Finance"- the Prime Minister said. Moreover, Mykola Azarov set the task to the STA to shift to the automatic refund of value added tax, to intensify efforts to combat bogus VAT refunds and illegal conversion of funds.

The Head of the Government noted that the tax service should establish partnerships with taxpayers. Mykola Azarov noted that the result of their work should not be a number of criminal cases, but increase of tax revenues to the state budget.

"The tax collector must not be a monstrosity. We must move away from this. Our task is not to put in jail, but to make the taxes to paid" - the Prime Minister declared.

Moreover, Mykola Azarov informed that the former Head of the State Tax Administration Oleksandr Papayika was appointed as the Prime Minister Adviser. The Prime Minister thanked him for his work and noted that during his leadership the State Tax Administration has managed to insure a substantial increase in revenues to the state budget.
