OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2011.   The approaches to enhancing bilateral partnerships were put on the agenda of a meeting held with GIZ Regional Director for Central Asia Kurt Wagner at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

An exchange of views on the current state and prospects for furthering fruitful collaboration in the framework of the ongoing joint programmes in the legal and other sectors in Turkmenistan took place during the meeting. It was noted that the critical aspects of the state policy of reforms implemented by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in all spheres of life of the country included the study and use of best international practice in the activity of all structures in various spheres. The Turkmen state attaches considerable significance to enhancing cooperation with the leading international structures for this purpose.

Mr. Kurt Wagner emphasized that GIZ welcomed the progressive reforms taking place in Turkmenistan that had gained impressive accomplishments on the path of social and economic and democratic development. Focusing with satisfaction on the fruitful character of bilateral cooperation, the guest expressed the willingness to build up effective collaboration in joint programmes.

The issues regarding further expansion of bilateral contacts were discussed during the meetings, which were held at the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Nature Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture and focused on the prospects for partnerships in relevant fields.
