OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2012. Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan were created. The organization of new institutions designed to promote the further development of industries, increase their contribution to the GDP of the country improving the management of industrial enterprises and coordinate their activities will pay more attention to the development of the electricity industry which has huge export potential. In general the reorganization is aimed at reducing the dependence of the national economy on raw materials, increasing the production of goods and products of processing industries with high added value.

The set of documents regulating the creation of new ministries was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country which did sum up the economic development in the first six months of the year and outlined tasks for the second half.

So according to the Decree "On establishment of the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan" was abolished the Ministry of Building Materials Industry of Turkmenistan and his successor became the newly created department. The structure of the new Ministry of Industry will include about 70 different agencies and businesses. In addition to the facilities that manufacture building materials and the industry for today is very well developed in the country and includes a large cement plants, steel mill, mining sector a number of other asset management of the new agency will include engineering and the world - concern "Turkmenmashyngurlushyk." Engineering concern before was part of the structure of the abolished Ministry of Energy and Industry

As it was underlined by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the challenges of the new Ministry of Industry is attracting investment, building competitive modern industries, also including engineering and instrumentation, the modernization of existing enterprises. Concrete steps will be taken in order to provide maintenance and service base within the Ministry of industry as well as strengthening the capacity of private industry.

According to the Decree "On establishment of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan" the agency was abolished by the same assignee of the document of the Ministry of Energy and Industry. By focusing on the electricity sector the ministry will implement it more effective management and coordination. Before the new department faces challenges in large-scale modernization of the existing generating capacity and creating new to increase exports of electricity.
