OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2010. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Turkmenistan (Astana-based residence) Salomao Frederico Duque Estrada Meyer is on a visit to the Turkmen capital.

The Ambassador of the friendly country was received at the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations and the Ministry of Agriculture where a keen exchange of views on the key approaches to strengthening mutually advantageous Turkmen-Brazilian cooperation in a number of priority fields in the bilateral format as well as in the framework of the dialogue actively developed between Turkmenistan and Latin America countries took place.

Focusing on the profound potential to build up constructive partnership stipulated by the policy of positive neutrality and wide international cooperation as well as the new peace-building initiatives put forward by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the 65th session of the UN General Assembly , which had been welcomed and supported of the world community, including Brazil, Mr. Salomao Frederico Duque Estrada Meyer said that his country was keenly interested in enhancing effective collaboration with Turkmenistan, which despite geographical remoteness of the two countries, had the great prospects and potential.

The Ambassador of Brazil focused on the effectiveness of the meetings held in Ashgabat, which would contribute to intensifying full cooperation built on a long and mutually advantageous basis.

During the visit to Ashgabat Mr. Salomao Frederico Duque Estrada Meyer will hold the meetings at the State Committee for Tourism and Sport, the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service, the Football Federation of Turkmenistan and attend the celebrations in honour of the 19th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.
