OREANDA-NEWS. KAMAZ completes the plant tests and prepares for the transfer the first lot of vehicles, operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Gazprom's subdivisions. Two KAMAZ-65117-37 and one KAMAZ-65116-37 vehicles will be sent to the experimental operation to the Scientific and Technical Center. These are the two models of LNG trucks, which were the first in Russia to be certified, reported KAMAZ's press service.

As noted, at comparable prices, the main competitive advantage of LNG vehicles in compare with trucks with compressed natural gas (CNG) is the volume and number of tanks. If the first one has one and provides a power reserve of up to 700 km, CNG cars for a similar run should fill about 13 standard cylinders. It not only significantly increases the weight of the truck, reducing the payload weight, but also requires an elongated frame so that, along with the body or superstructure, the cylinders themselves can be placed on it.
