OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2010. Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Coordination Commission Chairman for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games Jean-Claude Killi, and IOC Olympic Games Executive Director Gilbert Felli visited SC “Olympstroy” Headquarters in the Olympic Park.

They examined information stands about the construction progress of the Venues in the Coastal and the Mountain clusters. SC “Olympstroy” President Taymuraz Bolloev noticed that the construction of the Olympic Venues in Sochi is running according to the approved schedule, and 40% of the planned Olympic construction will be fulfilled in 2010.

At the present moment construction is in progress in the Olympic Park at the sites of all six arenas: Olympic Stadium, Bolshoi and Maly Ice Palaces, Sochi Olympic Skating Center, Olympic Oval and Olympic Curling Center.

Moreover, the delegation inspected houses in the new Nekrasovskoye settlement constructed for the habitants whose land plots are situated in the Olympic construction zone. Putin had a conversation with the residents that have already moved in to their new houses. 102 houses in Nekrasovskoye settlement have been commissioned. Another 10 houses will be ready and commissioned in November 2010. 20 families that signed an agreement for the new accommodation instead of their old houses, got certificates of ownership.

International commission and the Premier examined the progress of construction works of the combined road “Adler – Alpika-Service”. It is one of the most important facilities of the transport infrastructure for the Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi. This road will be the direct connection between Adler airport and main Olympic Venues. Total length of the road is about 50 km. First six kilometers of the road are already opened for traffic, and provide direct automobile service between Imeretinskaya lowland and existing road to Krasnaya Polyana around the center of Adler.

Chairman Jean-Claude Killi noted that at present Sochi “is on the half-way to the Olympic Games, and the overpassed distance is quite impressive”.
